BLOODSTRINGS from Aachen have been performing on stages around the world since 2013. Their distinctive sound, which combines the raw fury of punk rock with the lightness of rock ’n’ roll while breaking new ground and avoiding both clichés and expectations on guitar and double bass, makes the band just as unique as singer Celina’s voice.

While The Bloodstrings originally had their roots in horrorbilly, in recent years they have evolved into a political punk ’n’ roll band that sometimes throws a party and sometimes addresses serious topics. After nearly 10 years of band history, they can proudly claim to have revolutionized the genre of “punkabilly.”

The year is 2014 and the Tromsø-based band that eventually gets the name LÜT sees its birth in hermetically sealed “boy rooms” where hormones and teenage anxiety were in free flow. The result is refined and distinctive rock, which captures fans from both underground and mainstream cultures.

10 years have passed.

Is the anxiety less, the shoulders lowered and the kicks lower? In no way. The world is still attacked with sharp claws, suggestive melody lines and harsh lyrics. Having played together more than half of their lives, Tromsø's proud sons deliver a refined combo of salty, raw and unrestrained rock, painted by contrasts that only darkness, extreme cold, and eternal summer nights of northern norway can create.

THE PINPRICKS, who - given the international nature of this record - come neither from London nor New York, but from Kiel in northern Germany, have combined all their strengths and made a record that balances virtuously on the fine line between “contemporary” and “timeless”.

With “This Stuff Is Poison”, they deliver a poison that tastes damn good.

The Pinpricks mix punk and garage rock, indie and a touch of

a “touch of 80s wave”, rough heavy moments and a catchy firework of hooks to create songs that, once heard, you won't forget in a hurry. Because The Pinpricks, who - as one might

In a time of mindfulness, horoscopes, spiritualism, and progression on the rise, YOU KNOW WHO has chosen regression. They’ve gone back to the place where it all started. The old, sweat filled and cold garage rehearsal room from the band’s youth. Trying to discover why the hell they ever started playing in bands and throwing away all their money, all the time. You Know Who dives headfirst into the Scandinavian rock wave from the 90’s, combining it with elements from the Detroit rock scene in the 70’s, while drinking the sacred brew and turning their amps “one louder” than everyone else. You Know Who returns somewhat wiser and wants to offer an honest product for the average worker. Something that’s suitable to crack open a cold one to, after a long week working for “the man”.

You Know Who might resemble what Cro-Mags would have been, if Cro-Mags had at better upbringing. Minor Threat, if Minor Threat drank beer, and Burzum if he had attended anger management treatment. With this in mind, you know what to expect.

You know who delivers it. And you know where it’s coming from. You Know Who!

Hamburg has long been known as a breeding ground for metal bands from all subgenres, but with KÖHLBRAND a particularly versatile new force has emerged. If the five-piece from the Hanseatic city, founded in 2018, can be classified at all, it would be somewhere between death metal and crust – though that barely does justice to a wild mix of death metal, punk, grind, and touches of rock ’n’ roll and black metal. Genre labels are really only for those who feel the need to put the band into a convenient box for orientation.

Opportunities to witness this human incarnation of chaos live are rare – and every single one of them should be seized.

THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE ZUGLY (or GBZ) were once the annoying escape pod for bands like Gluecifer, Turbonegro and Anal Babes, legends of the Oslo punk scene in the nineties, a time when punk rock was all about purnihilism and hellish violence.

Now, after five studio albums and a decade of touring in Norway and Europe, the middle-aged Oslo punks have been hit hard by the miseries of midlife in the most merciless way. As with all once-hard-hitting punk bands, one would think that such a downturn in the name of rock meant musical impotence, and that the five members would descend into self-pity, diaper changes, heteronormative insecurity as a result of blurring gender roles, mortgages and rising interest rates, marital problems and severe physical decay. Aside from the fact that several of these are actually true, the blue-black satire that has characterized the band since its birth has, if possible, become more pointed in line with the growing bitterness that now rides the five hemorrhoid-infected Hadelendingen. The tempo of the songs increases, the guitar riffs become more insistent, the vocals more desperate. And the song titles - which have gradually become GBZ's trademark - they only become more ridiculously accurate.
